Greetings everyone!
My last call for submissions didn't get a lot of takers, so I'm posting again for the Winter 2019 Issue of the newsletter. Please submit your stories, 2019 conference notes, letters to the editor, or anything else! The new deadline is December 1st, plenty of time to write a short piece. Tell me what's on your archival mind!
SAA's Audio and Moving Image Section is seeking submissions for a Winter 2019 issue of our newsletter.
Suggested topics for contributions include:
- Archive profiles
- Current preservation and/or access efforts
- Best practices from the field
- Member spotlights
- Collaborative efforts
- Reports on conferences/workshops
- Challenges for archivists working with recorded sound and moving images
- Opportunities for sound and image archives
- Student forum
- News announcements: collections, grants, professional achievements, etc.
- Any other archival issue related to the creation, management, preservation, or use of audio and audiovisual resources
We invite contributions from section members, students, and others working in the field. The Spring 2019 newsletter can be viewed here for reference.
Winter Guidelines:
Short pieces, up to 225 words, are encouraged in addition to longer articles up to 700 words in length. Submissions may be edited with minor revisions for clarity and brevity. If substantial changes seem necessary, authors will be contacted for approval prior to publication. Please use in-text citations (if citations are included) with an end-page bibliography. If you would like to include images as part of your article, please submit as additional high resolution jpeg or gif files. Include credit lines with your submission when appropriate.
