    Dear Colleagues,

    Descriptive Notes is pleased to share the first post in it Remote Description series: "Leaving Legacies: Remote Re-Description at Cline Library's Special Collections and Archives," by Sam(antha) Meier, Cindy Summers, and Elizabeth (Liz) Garcia. The authors discuss the work of the Updating Legacy Description Project at Cline Library, including efforts to integrate the Protocols for Native American Archival Materials (PNAAM) into archival description.

    CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS: Descriptive Notes is also issuing a call for its next series: Favorite Finding Aids. Do you have a finding aid that presented a particular descriptive challenge, an opportunity for collaboration, or perhaps a test of new descriptive guidelines? Is there a finding aid that you find innovative, stylistically elegant, or particularly well-researched? This is your opportunity to celebrate the art in addition to the method of archival description.

    For this series, please pitch us a short description of your submission idea by Monday, October 4, 2021. We also always welcome posts on a rolling basis for our other series, as well as any other articles, announcements and updates, shared resources, and visual content relating to issues of archival description.
