  • 1.  TS-DACS Requests Input

    Posted Apr 14, 2021 04:07 PM

SAA's Technical Subcommittee on Describing Archives: A Content Standard (TS-DACS) has begun a systematic evaluation of how the standard may better reflect the new Statement of Principles (https://tinyurl.com/3ma434wu) adopted in 2019. The goal of this effort is to assist in the creation and maintenance of finding aids that reflect our ethics and values, and better serve the users of archival description.

As the standard is maintained on GitHub, TS-DACS will soon be posting issues and pull requests there to begin a transparent and interactive dialogue about potential changes. We invite the broader archival community to participate in this process by filling out the questionnaire available at https://forms.gle/Q1xiExm6aZ57HzJB7, or by posting their own issues or pull requests at GitHub (https://tinyurl.com/266sy7kw). Multiple submissions from individuals or groups are welcome.

As TS-DACS hopes to gather input from a broad spectrum of archivists in a variety of settings, we encourage you to share this message and invite participation from community archivists, regional groups, students, and anyone who you think may wish to provide feedback.
