Call for contributions: Career Journeys series for SAA Membership Blog

  • 1.  Call for contributions: Career Journeys series for SAA Membership Blog

    Posted Sep 13, 2021 04:06 PM
    Dear colleagues,

As you may have heard, the SAA Membership Committee launched the new SAA Membership Blog (http://membership.archivists.org/) in May. We are writing to invite archival workers to share their career path stories in our Archivist Career Journeys Series.

Would you like to share the story of how you became an archivist and how your career has developed? Participating in the series would entail responding in writing to a handful of career path-related questions, which we would then post on the blog. We estimate that the time commitment for this would be 30-90 minutes, depending on your writing pace and the questions you choose to answer. Information on post components, along with some sample questions, is below my signature. Blog posts should be approximately 500-1500 words.

If you'd like to participate, please contact saamembershipcommittee@gmail.com with a brief statement of interest, which should include your name, some basic details about your career path, and why you think SAA members would be interested in hearing your story. Please express your interest by October 15, 2021; once we've contacted you, the turnaround time for the post will be 4 weeks. Please note that calls for participating in this series will be sent occasionally, and we welcome broad participation.

    Thank you for your consideration,
Alison Clemens, for the SAA Membership Committee
