(Apologies for the cross-postings)
Following up on the 2018 Joint Annual Meeting panel and the subsequent Archival Outlook article "How Does That Work? Remote and 'Post-Custodial' Archives," we are excited to announce the launch of a survey to gather statistics about the prevalence of remote archiving as well as qualitative information about how archivists are supporting these working arrangements.
This survey looks to investigate the emerging trend in the profession of archivists working from a location separate from their collections. Areas of exploration include:
· Types of archives that support remote archival work
· Tools and technological supports for remote archival work
· Developing terminology for this emerging work configuration
· Maintaining your work/life balance
· Staying engaged with archival colleagues and
· Building a support network for remote archivists.
Whether you are currently working as a remote/"post-custodial" archivist or if you are just interested in learning more about the idea, we would love to hear from you. The survey can be accessed at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/RBKQQVV and will be open until February 28, 2019.
Thank you for your time and consideration of this survey.
