Does your archives have an infrastructure project or a major initiative that needs federal funding support? After ten years without "earmarks" as part of the appropriations process, members of Congress can once again direct spending to specific projects or entities in their states and districts. These "Community Project Funding" (CPF) initiatives are intended to benefit nonprofits and state and local government granting agencies. The return of this targeted spending is an excellent opportunity for archives and cultural heritage institutions! If your institution has a project that could be a candidate for CPF, let us know today. SAA's Committee on Public Policy would like to work with a few archives to guide you through the process of crafting a CPF request. We hope to see archives take advantage of the CPF opportunities in the FY 2022 appropriations process. Contact us today at saahq@archivists.org. Deadlines are approaching fast for many House members' CPF requests!
