Do you enjoy research and have an aptitude for organization? Dartmouth Library's Rauner Special Collections Library is seeking a Processing Specialist who will process archival and manuscript collections in physical and digital format that support teaching, learning, and research within the Dartmouth community and around the globe.     As the Processing Specialist, you will: 

    • join a collaborative, supportive Special Collections team of 15 
    • work on site in Hanover, NH, at Rauner Library, the home of Dartmouth's rare books, manuscripts, and archives. 
    • perform research on individuals and organizations represented in archival and manuscript collections. 
    • arrange and describe archival and manuscript collections containing both physical and digital formats. 
    • identify preservation issues in the collections. 
    • provide basic research support in the reading room to a diverse community of users. 
    • actively engage in professional development funded and supported by the Library. 
     
    Ideally, you will have: 
    • library experience. 
    • experience with or ability to learn database applications. 
    • strong organizational skills. 
    • excellent communication skills, both oral and written. 
    • ability to work both independently and collaboratively. 
    • ability to work discreetly with sensitive or confidential materials. 
    • experience working with rare or fragile materials. 
    • a bachelor's degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
