Hello, wonderful SAA community!
I'm Valeria Dávila, 2020-21 President of the SAA Student Chapter at the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa, and I'm very excited to announce the launching of our podcast "Archives and Communities". The podcast centers on community archiving across the US and each episode host a special guest working at a community archive or carrying out community archiving initiatives independently or within an organization or institution.
That said, I wanted to invite all of you on the other side of the screen to listen to the first episode featuring Chicano librarian and educator Richard Chabran, as he revisits his career in LIS and shares about his latest initiative
The Latino Digital Archive
. But that's not all, Richard also discusses his understanding of community archiving as a practice and shares valuable advice for archives students. Give it a listen at
