I just wanted to share the Archivists at Home document that the Accessibility & Disability Section has been crowdsourcing. "Archivists at home" began as brainstorming advocacy tool for developing a more flexible concept of archival labor, whether it is archivists working from home due to COVID-19 or archivists with disabilities. The document has evolved in scope to address needs of the archival community to address adapting to COVID-19 broadly, ranging from the workplace, choosing to temporarily close an archives, to working from home, and notes on supporting student and contingent workers. Please check it out!
I also wanted to pass along this info on free webinars relating to remote work (below)
Register for these two webinars to learn how to better manage your remote employees and how to be a better remote worker yourself.
With the likelihood that more of your team members may be working remotely, we're happy to offer you and your co-workers the opportunity to attend any of our free upcoming webinars. We have two webinars scheduled this month that offer tips and best practices for both remote workers and their managers.
Effectively Managing Remote Teams | Wednesday, March 18 | 12:30PM EDT
Building a high performing team is hard work under the best circumstances, but add the "distance factor" and the issues that managers face can grow dramatically. Join us as we discuss ways to effectively manage remote teams. Tips and techniques will be introduced covering the interpersonal challenges, the potential cultural issues, how to manage productive remote meetings, define key remote processes, deliver projects on time, and develop team synergy when your staff is working remotely.
Strategies to Be a Better Remote Worker | Thursday, March 19 | 12:30PM EDT
Are you a remote worker? If not, you may soon become one. Remote work is on the rise, so chances are good that at least a percentage of your work time may be spent outside of the office. Working remotely requires a change in mindset and potentially a change in your typical day-to-day schedule. Applying your same office practices while working remote may not be the best approach. Join us for this informative webinar as we discuss several strategies to make you a better remote worker.
P.S. If you're unable to attend the webinar on the live date, once registered, you will automatically receive a link to the recording.
